Everyone agrees that rap is a talent. While it come natural for some, for others, theyve had to work the ropes tp become badasses.
In Nigeria, there are a few hiphop legends to remember. Rap in Naija cannot be spoken off without M.I Abagas name in it.
The former Chocolate City boss and act, is undenaibly one of the best rap star we have in the country.
M.I Abaga and Kendrick Lamar
In a recent tweet, the Nigerian rapper may have suggested he is better than his American counterpart, Kendrick Lamar.
After listening to Kendricks album, Mr Abaga said Nigerian fans do not appreciate him enough.
Listening to Kendricks album and realizing Naija music fans actually dont appreciate me smh.

So his statement could mean two things, either he is better than his American counterpart or people do not pay attention to him the way they should.
Nonetheless, who is a better rapper?
There have been reactions from several camps on Twitter. Follow a few reactions below.
Are you saying that you’re better than Kendrick or on the same level?

Exactly my thoughts. Like you’re on the same level with him. Funny thing is our rappers have to break down their lyrics for Nigerians to understand. They’d complain if they can’t understand but then, they still vibe to foreign artistes that have very complex pen game.

Sometimes na peer pressure. And dont forget we appreciate foreign imports more in this country.. youll see someone vibing to people like 21 savage and young thug but would play down M.I its crazy

They can’t get it. I was listening to Judah yesterday again and I realised most Nigerians can never rate you because lyrics are too deep with big words. African Kendrick Lamar

I’m surprised at how Nigerians would stream this US rappers to the end but when a rapper in Nigeria makes some good hit like they do you will hear rubbish like “if you wan blow for 9ja no do rap”
Like what the actual f***
